What Happens at the Pop-Up
We’ll take a gentle mould of your baby’s hand or foot using natural, skin-safe alginate.
While you relax with a coffee, we’ll start the first stage by pouring wax into the mould on-site.
Back in our studio, your piece is carefully cast in archival-quality crystal glass through a multi-stage process:
Wax mould is removed and a plaster cast is made
A refractory mould is built around the wax
The wax is steamed out, leaving space for molten glass
The kiln heats to 800°C over 3–4 days
The glass is cold-worked, polished, and finished
Your keepsake will be ready to collect in two-four weeks from Me2U Baby Boutique.
What You’ll Receive:
One luminous crystal casting (hand or foot, your choice)
A plaster mould you can paint or decorate at home
The option to customise colours (extra cost, available on request)
An archival-quality cast that can be used for future copies
Practical Details:
You are welcome to bring an assistant to help hold baby during the casting + support people to make it a fun whanau time
Sessions take 25 minutes each
